What is forwarding ?
If you already have webspace or a website, and your domain name only has to be linked to that website (+ current e-mail address), you can choose to forward/redirect the domain name.

Free domain name linking
Your new domain names (e.g.http://www.domainname.be and http://domainname.be) are linked for free to your current website (which can be located either at COMBELL or at any other hosting provider).
Subdomains
When you have a domain name, you can create an unlimited number of subdomains.
When you have for example a news page at http://users.provider.be/maninthestreet/news.html
you can create a subdomain http://news.domainname.be/ which will automatically refer to the long url.
Visitors can automatically be linked to any page, without having to use these long url's by using subdomains.
Cloaking
What is cloaking ?
If you enter your new domain name in your browser's address bar and you have it forward cloaked to your hosting (for example at Skynet), visitors will always get to see your new domain name in their browser's address bar when they are surfing your website and that regardless of the actual page they're surfing.
In other words:
your address: users.skynet.be/ wisco/rainforest.html
won't be seen by your visitors. They will always see:
www.rainforest.be.
No cloaking:
www.rainforest.be will be sent to and display the actual url users.skynet.be/ wisco/rainforest.html in the browser's address bar. Unless, of course, you have proper hosting with an IP address and name server support.
What does this mean for you?
This means that, at COMBELL, you decide yourself whether your domain name remains visible for your visitors, or whether your domain name should be simply forwarded to another domain.
META-Tags
META-tags (key words and description) and title can be added/edited from the cloaked forwarding, in order to be accepted and spidered by search engines.>
