The European Commission wants to protect online shoppers better
The European Commission has prepared a proposal that will allow to better protect online shoppers in the European Union. The Commission wants to protect the e-consumer better. The general idea is mainly to improve the consumers’ rights in the event of late or problematic deliveries and repairs and in the frame of warranties, reimbursements and returns of merchandise.
About 150 million inhabitants of the European Union shop online, but mostly in their own country. Only 30 million purchase merchandise in another Member State. The European Union wants more competition, also between countries, and hopes that this proposal will offer a solution.
