Prime Minister De Croo celebrates ‘Day of the Entrepreneur’ with a visit to Combell
On November 22, UNIZO celebrated the ‘Day of the Entrepreneur’ for the 11th time. This year, the entrepreneurial strength of entrepreneurs in Flanders and Brussels was highlighted. A visit from Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo made this day extra special for Combell and team.blue.
By organizing the ‘Day of the Entrepreneur,’ UNIZO aims to shine a spotlight on both entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship.
"Entrepreneurship is a source of creativity, innovation, and perseverance, and on November 22, we honor the strength that enriches our economy and society," writes UNIZO on its website.
Prime Minister De Croo in Ghent
Innovation and perseverance are two qualities that also define Combell, still the market leader in hosting solutions, and its supporting hosting family, team.blue.
These are qualities that Prime Minister Alexander De Croo wholeheartedly agrees with. In honor of the ‘Day of the Entrepreneur,’ he visited the headquarters in Ghent.
“The Belgian Dream”
"Did you know that I’m a Combell customer?" he said upon arrival. "One of our local websites is handled by one of your resellers, and for hosting, we rely on Combell.
This Ghent-based company, to me, represents the essence of entrepreneurship in our country. Started in a student’s attic and now, together with team.blue, it has grown into one of our five Belgian unicorns. In America, they would call this: the Belgian dream."
Supporting more than 120,000 businesses
During his visit, the Prime Minister got to know Combell and team.blue better. He had a conversation with Managing Director Jimmy Cappaert. Both the success stories and the challenges of entrepreneurship were discussed:
"Entrepreneurs are the backbone of our society: they create wealth, jobs, and drive innovation.
At Combell, we support more than 120,000 companies in their digital growth and witness daily how numerous challenges put entrepreneurial confidence under pressure," says Jimmy Cappaert.
As a Belgian, yet simultaneously international company, Combell and team.blue advocated for an inspiring policy that not only supports existing entrepreneurs but also motivates the entrepreneurs of tomorrow to keep building a strong and innovative Belgium.
Concerns that Prime Minister De Croo understands: "Although it’s good to do business in our country, not everything is perfect. I agree that there are still areas for improvement. Ultimately, it’s entrepreneurs—each one an inspiring individual with a clear goal—who create the majority of our jobs."
Boost for the future
That Prime Minister De Croo celebrated the ‘Day of the Entrepreneur’ with a visit to Combell and team.blue is not only a great honor but also a boost for the future.
Our colleagues are more motivated than ever to contribute to the online success story of our customers, who, in turn, are all driven entrepreneurs themselves.
