Information on how we’re dealing with the GHOST bug
Maybe you've heard about the GHOST bug or vulnerability? It's a newly found glitch in the 'glibc' component, that is present on almost every system that runs Linux and used by a lot of software packages. We'd like to give you some more insights in how we're dealing with this problem.
All shared services like email, hosting or databases
As soon as we heard about the problem, Combell proactively performed upgrades on all shared platforms. Those are the systems where we host products and services like Basic email, webhosting or MySQL databases. On these systems there is no longer an imminent threat of the GHOST bug.
Cloud and dedicated servers
Just as our shared platforms we've dealt with this problem proactively and we're in the process of upgrading all of our servers. There is no action required from our customers. Combell doesn't take any risk and will secure these servers quick and efficiently. This is a process that is ongoing, due to the large number of servers that Combell manages.
In short: there is no need to panic. Thanks to the quick response of Combell, there is no danger for its customers.
