We use our tablet and smartphone much more often to surf the Internet and to shop online too. An American study revealed that we currently prefer to shop on the seller’s mobile website – not through its application.

We use mobile store sites almost twice as often as the associated applications. The study focused on Amazon, Best Buy, eBay, Target and Walmart (among others). What is really surprising is that applications keep us almost twice as busy once we start using them.

In conclusion, trademarks will have to continue down both these roads: mobile sites in order to reach as many customers as possible, and apps to strengthen their brand identity.

Finally, here’s another fact worth mentioning: in December, no less than six out of ten Americans used their smartphone to shop online. This definitely proves that mobile shopping has now become mainstream.
