One out of eight people in the EU27 doesn’t shop online because of a feeling of insecurity
On the occasion of the 5th Safer Internet Day on February 12th 2008, EuroStat has conducted a study on Internet activities, security dangers and virus attacks in the EU27. The percentage of online shoppers increased from 24% in 2005 to 30% in 2007. Most online shoppers live in Denmark (55%), the Netherlands (55%), Sweden (53%) and the UK (53%). Online banking is the most popular in Finland (84%), Estonia (83%) and the Netherlands (77%). Among Belgians, only 21% shop online and 52% use Internet banking services. One of the main reasons they point out not to shop online is a feeling of insecurity. This feeling of insecurity is often unfounded. COMBELL customers can allow their online customers to shop and pay online in a completely secured hosting infrastructure.
